How Did Health Care Become a 4 Letter Word?

Michele Johnson is the Executive Director at the Tennessee Justice Center.  For nearly 2 decades, she has focused her advocacy on health care for children and families on the TennCare program.

As lead counsel, she negotiated a class action settlement, requiring comprehensive reform of health care for over half a million TennCare children.  She continues to work to represents scores of Tennesseans to access to health care they need. The American Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Division has honored her work with their “Child Advocacy Law Award.”  In 2015, the Tennessee Bar Association named her Public Interest Attorney of the Year. In 2016, The Tennessean named her a finalist for the “Tennessean of the Year.
