The Artist’s Process: From Snap Shots to Large Murals

Heeseop Yoon was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. She holds her BFA from Chung-ang University, Seoul, Korea and MFA from City College, New York, NY. She is known worldwide for her large-scale line drawing installations and intricate black and white ink drawings.

Yoon recently completed her first outdoor mural installation in Italian Market in Philadelphia, and has had solo and two-person shows at Triple Candie, March Gallery and Bose Pacia in NY; Arario Gallery, Seoul; University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Monmouth University, West Long Branch, NJ.

Her works have also been exhibited in museums and art centers internationally, including MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA; John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Sheboygan, WI; The Bronx Museum, NY; Seoul Arts Center, Korea; China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), Beijing and at various media art centers throughout Australia.

Yoon currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
