Jeana Eve Klein’s series Recent Activity began the day President Trump signed the Muslim travel ban, an act that led to protests at airports around the country. Klein, who had participated in the march on Washington and was calling her representatives daily, turned to social media to express her support for those performing the important work of making their voices heard. Feelings of inadequacy over this limited participation led her to create Recent Activity. This documentation—via hand-cut recycled lettering—is her “self-assigned penance for failing. Every. Single. Day.”
