Think of the Modern School of Film’s Film:Masters series as a hybrid of Inside the Actors Studio, Rifftrax and Spectacle — a forum for artists and musicians to further the art of cinema by screening and discussing a favorite film with founder Robert Milazzo. Or, in the case of Milazzo’s three-night stand at OZ Arts Nashville Sept. 10-12, it means hearing Sandra Bernhard discuss the merits of Purple Rain, watching Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim (aka Tim & Eric) sing the praises of Waiting for Guffman, or getting some Gopher 101 on Caddyshack from The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney.
Tickets are on sale now, $60 for a three-night pass or $25 each night. The clip above of movie-geek extraordinaire Bill Hader on Preston Sturges should give you an idea of the proceedings. More details below from the OZ website.
