OZ Arts’ 2016/2017 Season Includes Shakespeare, Space Invaders & More!

Upcoming programs include pop-up theater performances, a massive site-specfic drawing and electronically enhanced tap dancing

Since , OZ Arts has made some outstanding contributions to the local arts community, from bringing in renowned performance artists like  to hosting ambitious local ventures like .

OZ’s upcoming season features a broad spectrum of events, including a month of pop-up performances of Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure, the return of live action graphic novel troupe The Intergalactic Nemesis, a site-specific drawing that will fill the cavernous exhibition hall and much more.

Check out the schedule below, and look for season subscriptions ($270 per pass) and individual tickets at  starting on Sunday, Aug. 21.

  • Sept. 10: OZ Family Day
    Indoor and outdoor program with hands-on activities for kids and families featuring local artists and community organizations, plus performances by the band Ozomatli and Grammy-winning banjo picker Abigail Washburn and guzheng wizard Wu Fei, who explore the common threads between Applachian and Chinese music.
  • Oct. 5-23: one step at a time like this — Since I Suppose
    Melbourne, Australia theater company will rehearse a production of Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure with local actors and theater students and perform it in public spaces all over the city throughout October, at dates and times to be announced through an app.
