Writer, editor, and musician Chet Weise’s poems, stories, and essays have appeared or been anthologized in publications such as Copper Nickel, The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Peach Mag, and Poetry Magazine. The short film for his poem “Bass Pro Shop” directed by his partner, Maria “Poni” Silver, was selected by six film festivals. A musician, too, Weise has recorded and toured worldwide with groups The Quadrajets, The Immortal Lee County Killers, and Kings of the F–King Sea (named after a book of poems!). He was banned from Canada during 2008. Weise currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where he is Editor-in-Chief of Third Man Books, and has published authors such as Forrest Gander (Pulitzer Prize winner), Bobby Gillespie (Primal Scream and Jesus and the Mary Chain), Robert Gordon (Emmy Award winner), Valerie June (Grammy Award nominee), Adrian Matejka (Pulitzer Prize finalist), Benjamin Myers (Walter Scott Prize winner), Iggy Pop, Ciona Rouse, Will Sergeant (Echo and the Bunnymen), Frank Stanford, Sheree Renée Thomas (multiple World Fantasy Award winner), Jack White (multiple Grammy Award winner), Caroline Randall Williams, and C.D. Wright (MacArthur and Guggenheim Fellow).
