NASHVILLE, TENN. – Oct. 16, 2017 – Soprano Renée Fleming, one of the most celebrated American singers of our time, will perform an evening-length concert featuring German, French and Italian classics as well as some American contemporary works on Dec. 1 at OZ Arts.

The concert is a special event titled the “Chairman’s Choice” in honor of OZ Arts Chairman and Founder Cano Ozgener, who selected the program.

“For me, it’s important that OZ Arts gives back to the Nashville community by bringing in world-renowned performers,” said Ozgener. “Renée Fleming was at the top of the list of artists I wanted to bring to Nashville. OZ Arts is excited to offer Renée Fleming fans an intimate performance and a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience.”

In addition to the Dec. 1 performance, the two VIP packages feature a unique and informal gathering with Fleming:

Friends of The Chairman Package ($850 per person; a portion will be tax deductible)

• One ticket to cocktail supper at Cano Ozgener’s home on Nov. 29
• One ticket to the Dec. 1 concert with premium seating and VIP parking
• Meet-and-greet with Fleming following her performance

Friends of OZ Arts package ($600 per person; a portion will be tax deductible)

• One ticket to cocktail supper at Cano Ozgener’s home on Nov. 29
• One ticket to the Dec. 1 concert with reserved seating

The cocktail supper will include a conversation between Fleming and her good friend Ann Patchett, author of the international bestseller Bel Canto about fictional American soprano Roxane Coss.

Single tickets to the Dec. 1 performance are $200 per person.

Additional Presentations
Cano Ozgener will install a special collection of his artworks at OZ Arts as part of the “Chairman’s Choice” program. He will display more than 40 of his most recent works exploring techniques with acrylic paint skins, abstract designs and color combinations. Art has served as therapy and a creative outlet for Ozgener during multiple battles with cancer over the last decade.

Fleming will present a talk entitled “Music and The Mind” on Nov. 29 (time TBD) at the Wyatt Rotunda at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody Campus. The talk will explore the role of music in society as well as its power to heal and transform lives. Admission is free and open to the public. The program is a partnership between OZ Arts and Vanderbilt University’s Program of Music, Mind & Society.

About Renée Fleming

One of the most beloved and celebrated American singers of our time, Fleming captivates audiences with her sumptuous voice, consummate artistry and compelling stage presence. At a White House ceremony in 2013, President Obama awarded Fleming the National Medal of Arts, America’s highest honor for an individual artist.

Known as “the people’s diva” and winner of the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Classical Vocal Solo, she continues to grace the world’s greatest opera stages and concert halls, now extending her reach to include other musical forms and media. She brought her voice to a vast new audience in 2014, as the first classical artist to sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.
