In La Obra (The Play), acclaimed Argentine director and filmmaker Mariano Pensotti unravels the extraordinary story of Simon Frank, a Polish Jewish survivor who recreates the places of his past in a small Argentine town — drawing the entire community into a living work of theater.

One of the most distinctive voices in contemporary theater, Pensotti creates intricate worlds where personal stories intersect with larger history, belonging, and representation. In La Obra, he builds a theatrical hall of mirrors in which narratives are reconstructed, perceptions are challenged, and the act of reenactment takes on a life of its own. With intricate storytelling and inventive staging, this acclaimed work invites audiences to explore the fragile boundaries between truth, performance, and reality.
