With a life-giving mix of contemporary dance, Hip-hop, and street dance forms, Philadelphia native Rennie Harris creates breathtaking and profound choreography with his internationally acclaimed company Puremovement. He’s been honored with prestigious awards including the Alvin Ailey Black Choreographers Award, the Guggenheim Fellowship, the Doris Duke Arts Award, and the Dance Magazine Legend Award. Harris is renowned for creating work that is fresh and surprising, yet rooted in deep knowledge and a scholarly background in the history and traditions of many Hip-hop forms.

OPENING NIGHT TOAST

Opening night ticket holders are invited to join Rennie Harris and his company dancers for a celebratory toast after the Thursday, October 14th performance.

FRIDAY NIGHT ARTIST TALK

Ticket holders for Friday, October 15th are encouraged to arrive early for a pre-show artist talk with Rennie Harris! The talk will begin at 7:15PM.

COVID-19 POLICY

Guests 12+ will be asked to show proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours.

Patrons may present a physical vaccination card or a photo of a vaccination card, along with a valid photo ID for those who are 18+. Covid tests should be date-stamped PCR or antigen tests administered within 72 hours prior to the event (not home tests).

Masks are required when guests are not actively drinking.

Proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours is required for event staff.

Join Rennie Harris for a FREE lecture-demonstration at the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM). Part of NMAAM’s Fine Tuning Masterclass Series, the interactive 45–60-minute presentation explores the history of various Street dance styles including Hip-hop, house, and B-boy. Dancers of Rennie Harris Puremovement will perform demonstrations for the audience.

Reservations and masks are required to attend this event in-person. It will also be live streamed via NMAAM’s Facebook page.

Join company members from Rennie Harris Puremovement for a FREE, high impact Master Class at TM Productions, featuring the company’s expertise in various Street dance styles from Hip-hop to house. Participants are expected to have intermediate dance experience or above.

Covid precautions will require masks to be worn at all times during this workshop and inside the TM Productions facilities.
