Alora Young

Nashville Youth Poet Laureate

Alora Young is a senior at Hillsboro High School. She is an IB diploma candidate and a graduate of the Iowa Young Writers Studio.  She serves as the chief editor of the Burro Underground, Hillsboro’s own literary magazine, and she is published in the Signal Mountain Review. She is the founder of Above Ground, an organization striving to increase equity in Nashville by combining creative writing and black history. In her free time, Alora enjoys playing chess and participating in theatre productions. She hopes to serve on the United States Supreme Court.
